Hello

I’d like to upgrade our myeclipse installation from version 5.1 to 5.5. This part is easy, i downloaded the update archive and can now update via the eclipse update manager from the local site.

But is there also a possiblity for the basic eclipse IDE, i do not want to remove the whole eclipse installation (loosing CVS settings, etc..). Is there also a possibility like with myeclipse to update eclipse from 3.2 to 3.2.2 via a local site.

You can go to Help > Software Updates > Find and Install… and scan for updates there.

Also, settings are stored in the *workspace* not in the install. So you could create a brand new install using the MyEclipse all in one installer, and as long as you reopened the same workspace, all the settings would be intact.
