chinchihParticipantOur team has 7 subscriptions to MyEclipse, and we would like to use the now-free SpringSource Tool Suite (http://blog.springsource.com/2009/05/07/springsource-tool-suite-now-free/) with MyEclipse. In other words, we would like to use STS in place of the Spring support bundled with MyEclipse. Here’s how I installed MyEclipse and STS:
(1) Unzip the STS download, which contains Eclipse 3.4.x
(2) Download and install MyEclipse 7.x using the Archive method with Spring-related components excluded from the install. However, installing MyEclipse on top of STS seemed to wipe out its features. Could you please recommend a way to make MyEclipse work with STS?
Thanks,
Chinchih
support-joyMemberChinchih,
MyEclipse does not support STS.
You can refer to http://www.myeclipseide.com/PNphpBB2-viewtopic-t-23553-highlight-sts.html
chinchihParticipantSTS has more features than the Spring Support bundled with MyEclipse. Is there a way to way to use STS together with MyEclipse?
support-joyMemberchinchih,
Currently we don’t support STS. We might provide support for STS in our 8.0 version. Sorry about that.
You can try doing this – Install Eclipse 3.4.1 Classic add STS and MyEclipse as plugins. (Please note this is a suggestion, I have not tested this approach. I don’t need to use STS :-). This might work for you)

support-joyMemberAs I said before MyEclipse currently doesn’t support STS. My last recommendation would be to add this to Feature Request here – https://www.genuitec.com/forums/topics/myeclipse/feature-requests/
Depending on the number of persons requesting a particular feature, management ups its priority. There is now a thread in the features request area for this. You can go add your voice to the request and maybe the feature will make it into the product.

support-joyMemberThank you Hamlin. I have escalated your feature request to our management.
