I tried to use the JSF Designer in a non ME project, but I got prompted that this would require a ME project. Could someone give me a hint how get this to work?

Does this apply as well for the Visual Web Designer on JSPs?

    Thanks in advance,

    Frank

    Frank,
The designer shouldn’t care what kind of project it is, I just tried editing an HTML, JSP and JSP-JSF Template page in a Simple project and java project and both worked. I don’t know what is wrong with the project in question (or what kind it is) but if you have to add Web Capabilities right click on the project, go to MyEclipse > Add Web Capabilities. Be sure to make all the right settings in the wizard and hit Finish. This will allow MyEclipse to “See” your project as a web project.

    Riyad,

thanks for your feedback. I pulled JBoss Seam over via cvs the dir structure looks a bit different to the ‘normal’ ME one.

I guess I have to comply to such ‘normal’ ME dir structure when I want to add for example Web Capabilities?
I could not test the Visual Web designer as I am still working on Linux, but what does the JSF Designer require?

    Thanks in advance,

    Frank

MyEclipse 5.0 will loosen this restriction and we will continue to make it more flexible going forward. So if moving your project’s layout around is a pain, hang in there while we get 5.0 ready.

None of the visual web-based designers (HTML, JSP, JSF) will run on Linux right now, but it will in MyEclipse 5.0, sorry for the inconvenience.
