I wouldn’t use velocity support much but I would use it.

With Struts2 having gone “gold” (i.e., the recent 2.0.6 release that actually seems to work…) it would be nice to have support for this view technology. JSPs are killing us because we have many web sites that have only minor differences… factoring out all of the common pages is a pain with JSPs but seems to be a much easier option under FreeMarker. Developers at my company have a total of three or four licenses.

Hello. Our company uses MyEclipse. We would benefit greatly with the addition of a Velocity editor. We find JSPs to be cumbersome, and Velocity templates really fit our needs well.

The best Velocity editor I’ve come across for Eclipse is Velocity Web Edit by Joe Hudson. One feature this simple but excellent editor missed is support for spaces in place of tabs. It seems like a small request, but Joe hasn’t responded to numerous e-mails so I’m afraid he has abandoned the project.

Please consider an editor for Velocity as part of you next MyEclipse release. Thank you very much.
