Jeff FiedlerParticipantI know that this issue has been raised and closed in another post, but I still have some concerns.
When I run Web 2.0 from MyEclipse 4.1.1, I get the following as not found: msvcr71.dll and nspr4.dll . I then see the message
Unable to create this part due to an internal error. Reason for the failure: C:\asys\MyEclipse\eclipse\plugins\com.genuitec.javascript.debug.mozilla_4.1.1\XPCOM\mozilla\xpcom.dll
1) The xpcom.dll is on my filesystem, so I am hoping that its error is a symptom of the other two files that are missing.
2) The nspr4.dll seems to be some type of Netscape/Mozilla DLL. I did find it in the ME 4.1.1 installation tree, but am not sure why it is not being found.
What configuration checks should it make? (Perhaps this error is also due to the msvcr71.dll that is missing.?.)3) The msvcr71.dll seems to be some type of Microsoft DLL . I am very concerned about this file, because there is a lot of discussion on the web as to whether or not it can be distributed. According to the redist.txt of Visual Studio, if Genuitec has used VS in its development of MyEclipse, then you can distribute the msvcr71.dll file. However, if you use VB, VC++, etc., then you must check the redist.txt file with that product to ensure that this file is listed as distributable.
Please provide me with a license compliant way of obtaining this file.
Thank you,
Jeff Fiedler
GregMemberJeff,
We are aware of this problem and we are currently working on a way to either allow for redistribution or remove the dependency all together. Unfortunately, for the current 4.1.1, unless you install Visual Studio or some other application that distributes this file, there isn’t a way we can provide this file for you. Sorry for the inconveinence.
hsuj01MemberHi, it still does not work, I put the msvcr71.dll on directory: “C:\Program Files\MyEclipse411\eclipse\plugins\com.genuitec.javascript.debug.mozilla_4.1.1\XPCOM\mozilla”, is there any additional configuration?
Thanks
Joseph
GregMemberThis problem is fixed in both MyEclipse 5.0M1 and M2. However, if you don’t want to upgrade, try putting the “msvcr71.dll” in your c:\windows\system32 folder.
