You mean constant security holes, allowing carte-blanche to pop-up ads, and no tabbed browsing is more “polished”? Everytime I’m forced to use IE, I feel like I’ve stepped back in time.
Go ahead and download those security patches where the license gives MS the “right” to snoop your computer. Download the pop-up blockers that install their own spyware. You still wont have a solution for things like tabbed browsing and mouse gestures.

More likely you are just more accustomed to it from years of use. There is a 12 step program to help you and users like you.

If I understand the expalanation properly, the delivery problem seems to only effect upgrades. Would it be possible then to give the interested Linux users early access to the GA for testing?

I expected to hear from the Linux camp. 🙂 Actually, releasing the Linux release a little early has already come up internally. Unfortunately, the same resources that put the releases together are also working the upgrade issue. However, there is considerable pressure from “above” to accelerate the Linux delivery for just the reason you suggest.
