    Hello,

    I have 2 problems.

1 : Could not restore workbench layout.
    Reason:
    Problems occurred restoring workbench.
    Deatails
Unable to restore perspective: Workspace – Java.
    Unable to create editor: Test1.xml.

This one occurs when you leave Eclipse with a XML editor open.

2 : Cannot open default editor on Test1.xml. Unable to instantiate editor: net.sf.solareclipse.xml.internal.ui.text.XMLEditor org.eclipse.core.runtime.CoreException: Plug-in “net.sf.solareclipse.xml.ui” was unable to instantiate class “net.sf.solareclipse.xml.internal.ui.text.XMLEditor”.

This one predictably occurs when you try the first time to open a XML document with the XML editor. No open documents were left when Eclipse was shutdown before.

But the second error does not appear when you have had the first one.

After the errors appearing once there are no problems with opening the XML editor.

I did a clean install of Eclipse 2.1.1 and MyEclipse 2.1.1.

I believe this is the problem. The EA2 release of MyEclipse (2.1.1) isn’t compatabile with Eclipse 2.1.1, inspite of the tragic similarity in the version numbers.

The GA release (2.5.0), which will be available by Tuesday is compatable with both Eclipse 2.1.0 and 2.1.1.

Sorry for the confusion. The version number collision is one of the reasons we jumped to 2.5.0 for GA. 🙂
