Michael ClavierMemberHi there,
the installation of MyEclipse 7.5M1 fails with the following messages:
Update site problems: http://downloads2.poweredbypulse.com/…: No repository found at http://…/client
for
-client
– eclipse34
– eworkbench
– ganymede
. jdks
– ganymed againThen I am asked whether to proceed or not. Telling the installation procedure to proceed will end in the message:
Profile Contains Errors: Pulse has been unable to create a plan for MyEclipse Latest (7.5M1). Please check the detailsbelow to diagnose the issue…
Reason: This profile can not be resolved because required software could not be located. Now, my computer has no (!) internet connection as of security reasons. How can I make the installation procedure not to “pulse”, but to install just from the downloaded installation executable?
System information:
– Windows XP Professional, SP 2
– please-let-me-know-if-you-need-moreThank you for help.
Michael
support-joyMemberMichael,
Sorry to hear you are running into this issue. Since you don’t have internet connection, the best way to install MyEclipse is using the archived update site(4th option in the download site).
Make sure Eclipse 3.4.2 “Classic” is installed. Download the MyEclipse archived update then go to Help > Software Updates > Available Software > Add Site > Archive… > Select the archived update site you downloaded > OK. Select features “MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench” and any additional ones you descire like “Matisse4MyEclipse” and then click “Install…” following the install wizard to completion.
Riyad KallaMemberMichael,
We’re getting 7.5 installers ready as we speak, please wait for those instead of the Milestone 1 release.
Michael ClavierMemberRiyad,
thank you for the news about the 7.5 installer. Will this version install without internet connection?
Maybe you should inform about issues like “you will need a connection to the internet to run the installation” on your download sites to make myeclipse users not to waste that much time. Thank you for keeping it in mind.
Michael
Michael ClavierMemberHi there,
shame, no answer until now.
Anyway I followed your hint to wait for the 7.5 release, asked a colleague to download the installation file as I am not allowed to. Then started the installation – and received the same error message.
So again my question:
How is it possible to install MyEclipse 7.5 without internet connection?
Michael
support-joyMemberMichael,
Did you try out this –
Since you don’t have internet connection, the best way to install MyEclipse is using the archived update site(4th option in the download site).
Michael ClavierMembersupport-joy,
I’m sorry, I could not find an eclipse “3.4.2 classic” zip on http://www.eclipse.org. “3.5. classic” is the newest version, but will probably not work with MyEclipse 7.5, will it?
Can you please tell me a site where I can get “eclipse 3.4.2 classic” from?
Thank you
Michael
support-joyMemberMichael,
You need to go to http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/ – last option listed is Eclipse Classic 3.5.0 (162 MB). You will find 3 links under the Classic 3.5.0 – Release notes | Other downloads | Documentation. Click on “Other downloads”. This will direct you to next page, where it lists 3.4.2 under latest releases.
Hope this helps.
Michael ClavierMemberJoy,
quick response, chapeau!
This is what I had done. It will result in Eclipse’s messages
— “Cannot complete the request. Generating details”
and then
— Cannot find a solution where both “org.eclipse.ui.ide.application [1.0.1.M20090204-0800]” and org.eclipse.ui.ide.application[1.0.0.I20080603-2000]” are satisfied
and so on.Same result when using the zip file “eclipse 3.4.2 classic” (explicitely named “classic”) from the german “eclipse magazin” 3.09 cd.
Any further suggestions?
btw: Why did you stop building installation files that do not need internet connection, as you did in former MyEclipse versions?
Michael
support-joyMemberMichael,
Are you behind a firewall or proxy. It looks like either you have download restriction or the installer file didn’t get downloaded completely. Can you please verify the installer file size and md5 checksum? ( For e.g. if you take a look at http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops/R-3.4.2-200902111700/winPlatform.php#EclipseSDK – it mentions the file size and md5sum for windows)
Michael ClavierMemberJoy,
as of security reasons I am not allowed to directly connect from my computer to the internet – no proxy, no firewall.
The internet terminal server from where I will go to the internet is using a proxy, and sure: a firewall is also included. When installing/extracting files on my comoputer there will not be any internet connection.Just to recapitulate: I downloaded 3 (three!) different files from different locations and 1 copy from a cd. All of them resulted in the same file size. All of them could be opened by Winzip without any error message, the contents were extracted normally. After the extraction, eclipse would open quiet nicely. Shouldn’t we assume that there was no proxy or firewall problem? Please insist if I am wrong…
Why do you think I am having any download restriction?
What can I do now?Michael
support-joyMemberMichael,
If your downloaded file size matches to that mentioned in the site and you are able to open eclipse, it is a non-issue.
— “Cannot complete the request. Generating details”
and then
— Cannot find a solution where both “org.eclipse.ui.ide.application [1.0.1.M20090204-0800]” and org.eclipse.ui.ide.application[1.0.0.I20080603-2000]” are satisfied
and so on.At what point did you get this error? Have you downloaded the MyEclipse archived update? Were you able to add it to eclipse as a plugin?
Michael ClavierMemberJoy,
I followed your description:
“…Download the MyEclipse archived update then go to Help > Software Updates > Available Software > Add Site > Archive… > Select the archived update site you downloaded > OK”…
Maybe as of version reasons or whatever there is no “OK” button, but an install button which leads to the described error messages.Any idea?
Michael
support-joyMemberMichael,
I am not sure why you are getting this error with the archived update site. I have one last suggestion. Can you download the manual installer from the MyEclipse download page. It’s listed as option #5. This is simply Eclipse 3.4.2 with MyEclipse installed off an archived update site that is included in the download. Simply unzip it and run ‘eclipse.exe’ and you’re done.
Let me know how this works for you.
Michael ClavierMemberJoy,
bingo, this way is working.
Is there any disadvantage when going this way?
Regards
Michael
