Calin MedianuMemberHi,
Right now it is possible to add N app server configurations, as long as they are different. It would make sense to be able to add N app server configurations, regardles of wether they’re the same or not. For instance, the tomcat 4 on my box and the tomcat 4 on a remote server, on a mapped drive.

Scott AndersonParticipantCalin,
Right now you can only configure one server of a given type. We did it this way for simplicity so that users could get up and running quickly since our product is optimized for local launching and debugging. What you’re asking for is definately an enhancement request at this point.
Preston SheldonMemberI would like to second the request for this feature. From a practical standpoint, being able to launch several slightly different instances of say tomcat 4 or JBoss 3 without having to change the configuration wpuld be very handy.
Jeremy KuhnashMemberat the very least being able to launch an app server that does not include all deployments for that app server .. nothing like firing up an app server with jetspeed, 5 struts apps and a few partridges in there for good measure .. the ram costs alone merit this one 🙂
But I also understand its omission.
BorisTobiMemberIt would be good, if you can specify different app server config files for each project.
Camron LevangerMemberI also would really like this feature. It would be a lot easier to check compat with different tomcat increments. For instance 4.1.24 is quite different from 4.1.29, same goes for the 5.0.x versions. This feature would save me a lot of time.
Andrew FreemanMember+1 Yes, this would help me a lot too. Switching tomcat versions today requires changing the app server preferences, undeploying from the first server, redeploying to new server.
Scott AndersonParticipantGood suggestion. On server launch configurations we’re planning on working with the Eclipes Web Tools Platform project to help define and implement a more flexible, generic model. Don’t have a timeline on that though, but it should be coming.
