I am using Eclipse 3.3.0 and MyEclipse 6.0.0 M1. I always want to open all xsl, xsd, and xml files in XMLSpy (my system editor). I currently right click the file, select Open With and select System Editor. Is there an easier way to do this? I tried to change the default editor under Associations but it doesn’t seem to save (it still opens in the eclipse xml editor.)

I also tried to do this for my own custom file type which is also xml. (*.xconf). When I use XMLSpy.exe as the editor, it launches a new copy of XMLSpy for each file I try to open.

I do not want to use the XMLSpy plugin, I want to use the external application.

    Any suggestions?
