    Hi,
I am trying to run eclipse, but i get the following error when trying to do this:

    JVM Terminated. Exit Code=1
    D:\tesis\j2sdk14203\bin\javaw.exe

    -cp D:\Vegasoft\eclipse\startup.jar org.eclipse.core.launcher.Main
    -os win32
    -ws win32
    -arch x86
    -showsplash D:\Vegasoft\eclipse\eclipse.exe

Also i have noted that each time this error occurs, a log file is created in the directory D:\VegaSoft\eclipse. THis file is called hs_err_pidXXXX where XXXX are numbers.
Please note that i just formatted my pc, and the only thing i have installed apart from eclipse is Tomcat and Office 2003.

    This is my path:
    D:\Tesis\j2sdk14203\bin;%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;

All of the log files created contains those same lines:
An unexpected exception has been detected in native code outside the VM.
    Unexpected Signal : EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) occurred at PC=0x77D68E45

    barr3,
please reply and hit “insert” and fill out your system and software information. We need to know what OS, Eclipse version, ME version, etc. you are running.

I’ve looking up this error on google “EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION” and it happens quite a bit and always has something to do with native calls out to a dll using the wrong params. Sometimes its a bug in someone’s code (passing the wrong params) and other times its a bug in the JDK. THere are quite a few complaints on the forums.java.sun.com site having to do with this bug.

We can make some suggestions after we see your system info.

Another thing to try, to tell if it’s the JDK right off the bat, is to install JDK 1.4.1 and try running Eclipse with that. Riyad is right that there are often errors in the latest JDK 1.4.2 builds. This really does look like one of them to me.

Also i can say to you that i am installing the same install files that all my software team have installed . So i dont think that the problem could be a corrupt install downloaded file.

-Another thing, I already tried installing a different version of the JVM and SDK before proofing with the jdk142 that is the actual JDK.

Please help me, my work is stopped…….

    Best wishes, undefined

barr can you try downloading/installing Eclipse 2.1.2 instead of the 2.0.2 release you are using?

After reading up on this problem it seems quite sporadic, so we will have to try and fix it 1 thing at a time.
