I ran into a problem where after some installations on top of the latest ME 8.6 I could not run the GWT compile from the toolbar or the context menu. I got an unhandled event loop error. After fighting with this and uninstalling and reinstalling components I finally uninstalled ME 8.6 and reinstalled it, reinstalled the GWT plugin from the popular plugins and iterated by checking if I could compile after each component install and restart. After I installed the Apache Directory Studio (ADS) from the popular plugins and checked if I could compile, I could no longer do so and got the unhandled event loop error. Uninstalling ME and not installing the ADS resolved the problem. Having done this twice with the same result, I’m pretty confident that you should not install ADS from the popular plugins on top of the GWT plugin.
To solve this, I installed the ADS as a separate executable which seems to work fine.
