When I compile project from ME Blue 8.6, export the EAR file and deploy to WAS 6.1, and start the server from the WAS server bin\startserver.bat, everything works fine. However, if I open ME and start the server from there, it gives me errors that the *.properties is not found. Could you please tell me if the IDE is looking some default location for the *.properties file?

I could not replicate this at my end. I was able to access the .properties file when the server is started from the IDE.
Can you list out the steps in detail, right from the project creation to replicate your issue?

Thanks for your response; when I put my properties file in the \IBM\WebSphere\AppServer\bin then everything worked fine.
