I am running Eclipse version 3.3.0 Build M20070921-1145 and the most recent MyEclipse download on a Fedora 8 machine. After running the Search for new features to install, and selecting the MyEclipse Discover Site, an attempt to install MyEclipse Reports version 6.0.2GA fails with the error message:

Eclipse BRIT Report Designer Feature (2.2.0.zmyeclipse602200712) requires plug-in “org.eclipse.pde.ui (3.2.0)”, or compatible.

Any pointers as to how to resolve this?

Ewin,
You need to install MyEclipse 6.0.1 with Eclipse Europa Classic. I guess you are not using Eclipse classic and thats the reason why you are getting this error.

The version of Eclipse I installed is from the eclipse.org download page, and the filename is: eclipse-java-europa-fall2-linux-gtk.tar.gz

How do I identify the Classic version if it is different than this one?

On the Eclipse download page you will see an Eclipse Europa package that reads Eclipse Classic 3.3.1.1. Thats the one I’m referring to:-

This is the file found under the Classic listing:
eclipse-SDK-3.3.1.1-linux-gtk.tar.gz

Suggestion: Your own download page suggests “You can download Eclipse Directly from the Genuitec Mirror site or at Eclipse.org here.”. But the word “Classic” does not appear anywhere on the page. It would only take adding one sentence to the one I quoted in order to clarify exactly which version is the proper one.
