jessewienMemberOur company is in the process of migrating from WDSc v6 to MyEclipse Blue 8.5. We used the “Enhance RAD Project to work with MyEclipse” feature to do this. We have an EAR that contains 30 projects (war files). The only plugin we have is for the ClearCase SCM Adapter.
Using the MEB Server view, we are able to add the EAR to our local WebSphere 6.1 server and it works. However, when we restart the IDE and the workspace build completes, the server status always changes to “Redeploy”. This doesn’t seem right. If we choose to “Redeploy/Reload Application”, it completes successfully (no errors in Error Log view) and the status changes to “OK”. We start the server successfully and are able to hit one of our jsp pages that does not have any authentication. However, when we try to get to a page that is authenticated by LDAP, we get an error that we have never received in WDSc:
“SECJ0129E: Authorization failed for company@user while invoking GET on default_host:jwWeb/dashboard.do, Authorization failed, Not granted any of the required roles: All users”To get around this, we are not able to use the “Redeploy/Reload Application” option and we need to fully remove the deployment and read it. Since our EAR is so large, this take a lot of time and really is not a good option. Any insight that you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Our installation details are as follows:

support-joyMemberjessewien,
Sorry to hear you are running into this issue. This issue was fixed in ME 8.6. Can you please install ME 8.6 and give it a shot?
jessewienMemberI just upgraded to ME 8.6 and that did NOT fix the problem. It still occurs exactly as described in my original post.
Brian FernandesModeratorjessewien,
There was a deployment location problem in 8.5, which is why I thought the issue would be resolved with the 8.6 update, sorry to hear it still exists.I have a few questions:
1) Do you stop WAS before you quit the IDE?
2) If you don’t redeploy your application restart – but simply go ahead and *start* the server, does your application work? It should still work as it is deployed.
3) What WAS version are you deploying to?
4) When you configure a profile, we allow you to specify whether to use enhanced or classic mode of deployment. What mode have you chosen? See the profile configuration page.
5)When you deploy the application – do you usually deploy when the server is running or when the server is topped?
6) Do you still see the errors in the log on *every* startup? (make sure you clear the log). If you do – can you please paste the contents of the log file here – we need to see more than just the error message, the stack trace helps.
jessewienMember1.) Yes, I always stop WAS before closing the IDE.
2.) Yes, the application still works if I don’t redeploy, but just go ahead and start the server (even though it has a “redeploy” status).
3.) WAS v6.1
4.) Classic Mode
5.) I only attempt deployment when the server is stopped.
6.) Yes, as long as I have a web project open, I still see the errors on every startup. The contents of the log file are pasted below.!SESSION 2010-08-03 07:56:16.453 ———————————————–

jessewienMemberDid my answers provide any insight that can help you to discover/resolve this issue?
jessewienMemberUPDATE: This seems to be working for us now. For anyone else who runs into this issue, here is how we solved it:
There are 2 parts to fixing this:
1.) Along with our move to WDSC v6.0 to MEB 8.6 we moved from WAS v6.0 to WAS v6.1 and J2EE 1.4 to JEE5. Go into each project’s properties >> Java Build Path >> Libraries and remove the WebSphere Runtime. Also go to the MyEclipse >> WebSphere Target Server and choose WAS v6.1 instead of <not set>. If you use a source control system and you will need to have your .classpath, .mymetadata, and .project files checked out before you do this. Check the error log if it still doesn’t work… there may be even more files that you need checked out in order to make the change.
Next, in every project you need to change the .classpath, .mymetadata, and .runtime files: any reference to j2ee 1.4, change to 5.0, and any reference to WAS v6.0, change to v6.1. Actually, I just deleted the .runtime file completely… it doesn’t seem to be used by MyEclipse Blue. After doing this for every project, close all of the projects, and then re-open all of the projects. Restart your IDE. The errors should be gone now.2.) There is a preferences.ini file located here: C:\Program Files\Genuitec\Common\plugins\com.genuitec.eclipse.blue.websphere61_8.6.0.me201007140905
…this file needs to be modified so that the reference to server1 is replace with your local server’s name.
support-joyMemberjessewien,
Good to hear you are all set. Thank you for posting the workaround here. This will help other forums users.
Best.
