    Hello,

When I am editing classes the auto-complete no longer works. If I am editing JSPs it works great for both HTML and Java.

I have done the -clean switch and it doesn’t do me any good. The auto-complete window pops up but has no suggestions.

Worse yet, every so many minutes the IDE will pop up an error for some missing SVN library. I have installed everything and run through all posts on this and like the auto-complete above and it still broken.

At over a gig MyEclipse is starting to require more maintenance than I care to perform on something that should be transparent. I would love to just remove the SVN stuff and manage that through software that actually works. The auto-complete should never fail! This is just plain silly…

When my peers sit down with me MyEclipse embarrasses me without fail now. Its slow, crashes, breaks, leaks, farts and then just looks like crap when it decides to get around to what you asked of it….

    jb,

I’m sorry you’re having these issues. Fortunately, for us, most users don’t suffer many serious problems. Unfortunately for you, you seem to have had a few issues over the last couple of years.

I’m not clear on whether you want to remove SVN completely or just want to get rid of the SVN message you keep getting. SVN, of course, is not a MyEclipse integrated plug-in and you would have had to install that as an extra. You don’t say what the actual error message is but if it’s “Failed to load JavaHL Library”, you can switch to the pure Java interface: Window->Preferences->Team->SVN, under “SVN interface” select the SVNKit.

You don’t say what version of MyEclipse you’re using or what OS you’re running under. Could you also give more details about what you’re seeing? For instance, are the JSPs and Java classes that you’re editing in the same project, what is the level of Java and do you have the problem for all content assist or just certain constructs?

The clean switch won’t help with as many issues as it used to (it’s an eclipse feature) but may held with OSGi bundle issues. Another thing to try is a fresh workspace. If that doesn’t work, a reinstall of MyEclipse is something else you can try – there are FAQs in the Installation and Configuration forum that might help there.

Let us know if any of these suggestions help. If not, please supply more details so we can provide better support for you.

    Hello,

Autocompletion is still broken and I just installed MyEclipse for Spring v10 / 64 bit / Windows 7 Professional.

I have not had it work since version 8 of MyEclipse and I have even changed computers. Is there something about the project that’s causing this? Everything else is gone, laptop, hard drive and even OS! But, here I am, still no autocompletion!

Has Eclipse really just gotten to the point of mega bloat that you all can’t ensure such a basic feature of an IDE works? My office just paid for nutbrains or something and their IDE so I think I’m just about through with eclipse. The past two years have been a complete waste of time with this slow, cumbersome, buggy disaster of an IDE.

Its sad since you guys do clean up a lot of eclipses problems but I think you all are fighting a losing battle!

So, does eclipse even have autocompletion anymore?

Wow, talk about stumbling around in the dark, why is it installed turned off?

    Weird!

I still think you all are fighting a losing battle in my worthless opinion….

    Thanks anyways.

    jp,

From your last two posts, it seems that you’re all set now. Is that correct? Content assist for Java should not be turned off by default. I just installed ME4S and it is on by default. As far as I know, we have had no other reports of this feature being turned off by default.

If this is still a problem, please post or attach your installation details (MyEclipse->Installation Summary->Installation Details) and attach your .log file (in the .metadata folder of your workspace).
