Hi,

I’m testing out a trial of your software, and at the moment think it’s great – really intuitive and customisable.

The problem I’m having is that when I add a background image and then place another image over the top (a logo or an image button), I get problems when I test the app on my iPod Touch (vsn 3.1.3).

It works fine in Safari, but when I add it to my home page and play it fullscreen, the screen flashes white as I slide between pages. I’ve recreated this a few times and tried without layered images. You can see the results here:

Nice UI. I ran your webapp on the following devices:OS versions –

1) iphone 3G:3.2
2) iphone 3G:4.3
3) iphone 4:4.3
4) ipad1:4.2

The transtions were smooth on all but the iphone 3G running iOS 3.2. We know that the underlying computation performance has improved dramatically since 3.2. I have asked our dev team to research this issue. Can you do me a favor and send 1 or 2 of the pages with the layered images for our testing? You can either attach to this thread or send to
support at genuitec dot com, make the subject “Heavenfield MobiOne info for Wayne”

Additional feedback, I noticed your player page uses the native player.

We are working on a media player component (talked about it this morning with dev team). But in the meantime I may be able to assist you with an integrated audio player for your app. Ping me if you would like some assistance.

thanks for your help and quick reply.

I’ve sent you an email with all the .mobi files and the export folder.

I thought it might be a performance problem myself at first, but I’ve never been able to recreate the problem when playing the app in the browser (it’s super-smooth) – it only occurs when running it from the homescreen.

Thanks for your offer of help with a media player – that was something I was really hoping for in your future releases. 🙂

I was just wondering if you got my email ok?

I think you may have been right about the problem being a performance issue. On my 1st generation iPod touch I have found that if I have a fullscreen background image with a large image over the top, then the screen flashes on page transitions. I’ve found that any image over about 280px square causes the problem. I’ve reduced the size of my logo to 250px x 250 and the scrolling is consistently smooth.

btw. it would be great to get some help on the media player you were talking about.

Also, I thought you might be interested to see how my app’s progressing. I’ve managed a few fudges to get external links / facebook etc.
