Alexandru PopescuMemberHi,
I already have MyEclipse 7.5 and 8.0 installed and I was wondering if after installing MyEclipse 8.5 I will still be able to run all of these versions.
tia,
Alexandru PopescuMemberAs a quick update: I’ve already started the installation. The installer detected there’s another copy of MyEclipse so I picked new installation. Couple of minutes later the installer stopped with an error:
An error occurred while configuring the installed items
session context was:(profile=com.poweredbypulse.profile-0-rb-578452-1280401068053, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.provisional.p2.engine.phases.Configure, operand=null –> [R]org.eclipse.equinox.p2.reconciler.dropins 1.0.100.v201003231800, action=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.touchpoint.natives.actions.MkdirAction).
Could not create directory /Library/Genuitec/MyEclipse 8.5/dropins.Doesn’t look too well :(!
support-joyMemberalexandrupopescu,
You can install ME 7.5 and 8.5. I guess, if you install 8.5, it will overwrite the ME 8.0 to 8.5 because the base eclipse is same – Galileo. You can give it a shot.
Alexandru PopescuMemberIf you read my previous post you’ll notice that using the option: New install **doesn’t work** at all. Unfortunately I don’t have the time to create the necessary backups to try this out as I’m really afraid I’ll end up with neither 8.0 nor 8.5 working.
While I am not completely familiar with the MyEclipse/Eclipse/Pulse setup, I frankly don’t see the issue of both 8.0 and 8.5 being based on the same core Eclipse version. I’ve always been able to install multiple versions of the same Eclipse distro in my environment for testing purposes. So I guess the limitation comes either from Pulse or MyEclipse. Maybe you should ask the tech team for a clarification and make this a sticky post.
