support-joyMemberwskent,
Can you answer few questions for me to get to the root cause?
1. Can you copy and paste your installation details? Open MyEclipse IDE, from menu options click on MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details.
2. How did you install ME? Meaning all-in-one installer / pulse / archived update site on top of eclipse classic?
3. Can you explain in detail what plugins were you adding and in what order? Also how were you adding the said plugins?I would recommend you a quick re-install using pulse.
1. Open Pulse. If you don’t have pulse, download from http://www.poweredbypulse.com
2. Login to pulse
3. Select “Eclipse – Galileo” realm from top left hand corner dropdown
4. Select “MyEclipse 8.5” from *My Profiles*
5. Choose the software tab
6. Verify the plugins added to your ME profile – This will be listed under Software tab > My Software > Personal
7. Next right click on *MyEclipse 8.5* and click on [re-install and run]
8. This will open a wizard which will guide you through the rest of the steps.Let me know how this works for you.
Best.
RamMemberwskent,
I am able to install Mylyn plugins from MyEclipse8.5 configuration center.
Please find the corresponding screen shot as an attachment.I would suggest you to do a clean re-install of MyEclipse and try to install the required plugins again.
Please follow below mentioned steps to do clean re-install –
1. Run the uninstaller.
2. Make sure the MyEclipse Install Directory has been completely removed
2.1. Pulse Install Directory, on XP it’s under C:\Program Files in \Pulse or \Genuitec, and on Vista it’s under <USER.HOME>\AppData\Local and then under \Pulse or \Genuitec again
3. Then make sure the pulse2.locator file under <USER.HOME> is erased as well
4. Next install pulse from http://www.poweredbypulse.com
5. Select “Eclipse- Galileo” realm from the top left hand corner dropdown
6. Expand and click on Ready to use Profiles > Popular
7. On the right hand pane, right click on MyEclipse 8.5 and click on [install and run]This will open a wizard which will guide you through the rest of the steps.

support-joyMemberwskent,
Thank you for the installation details. You haven’t mentioned what are the 3rd party plugins you have added to your ME 8.5 profile. Also what is the third party plugin you were trying to add/update which resulted in the above issue? Are you behind proxy/firewall? If yes, you need to set your proxy details here – Open MyEclipse IDE, from menu options click on Window > Preferences > General > Network and set your proxy information here.

How did you try to update the plugins? Can you list the steps here.

Maven is pre-packaged with MyEclipse. Can you confirm if you have removed the Maven feature available within ME? If yes, please list the steps taken to remove this feature? Also have you added another 3rd party Maven plugin? Can you list out the steps? I understand that m2eclipse plugin also provides Maven features but adding m2eclipse and having maven side by side causes conflicts.

support-joyMemberWalter,
Thank you for the installation details. Can you answer few queries for me to get to the root cause –
1. How did you install ME? Meaning all-in-one installer / pulse / archived update site on top of eclipse classic?
2. What is the software you are trying to update / remove ?
3. Can you list out the steps that resulted in the above issue. Are you trying to do the update using dashboard / myeclipse configuration center?
4. Can you list out the third party plugins installed in your ME profile?Looks like MyEclipse is looking for a missing requirement. I would recommend you use pulse to fix the dependency issue –
1. Open Pulse. If you don’t have pulse, download from http://www.poweredbypulse.com
2. Login to pulse.
3. Select “Eclipse – Galileo” from top left hand corner dropdown.
4. Select “MyEclipse 8.5” profile from “My Profiles”
5. Right click on the same and click on [re-install and run]
6. This will open a wizard which will guide you through the rest of the steps
Let me know how this works for you. -
