I cannot open any java file.
I get an SWTException (see below)
Tried to clean the project, nothing seems to help

Sorry that you ran into this issue.

Can you answer some more questions ?

1) Can you share your installation details from MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details ? Paste them here for me.

2) How did you install MyEclipse ? Is it through Pulse / All-In-One installer / Archived Update Site ?

3) Were you able to get the IDE up and running without any issues earlier?

4) Did you install any third party plugins which might have caused this issue?

Can you do some steps to see if they fix the issue ?

1) Can you try starting the IDE with -clean as args as given in the following link – https://www.genuitec.com/forums/topic/troubleshoot-using-the-clean-command-line-argument/?
I would also recommend you to run MyEclipse using “Run as Administrator” option.

2) Try switching to a new workspace as outlined here : http://www.myeclipseide.com/PNphpBB2+file-viewtopic-t-14682.html

Starting up with -clean option seems to solve the problem. Is is strange because it seems to happen suddely. I first had it happening in one workspace and then two days later in a workspace with any structural changes to it.

It can happen due to stale plugin cache in your workspaces. Glad that it is working.
