support-joyMembertolgaumut,
Are you also trying to install any other plugin? I would recommend you a quick fix using pulse. Please follow below mentioned steps –
1. Open Pulse. If you don’t have pulse, please download from http://www.poweredbypulse.com
2. Login to pulse. You can also login anonymously.
3. Select “Eclipse – Galileo” realm from top left hand corner dropdown
4. Under “My Profiles”, select “MyEclipse 8.5”
5. Choose “Software” tab. Under “Personal Software” it will list all your 3rd party plugins. Right click on *Groovy* plugin and click on [remove]
6. Pending changes will list all the managed changes. Click on [Apply x changes], this will open a wizard and guide you through the rest of the steps.Let me know how this works for you.
Tolga UmutParticipantI am not trying to install any other plugin.
When I opened pulse and go to the Software tab I do not see the Groovy plugin listed under the Personal Software.
But
In the Software Update Available Section I see two things.
1. Under Checking for Updates I see the following message
Detected dependency conflicts in updates
No actionable updates; check log for details
2. Under Managed Changes
Apply this change is checked under it
org.codehaus.groovy.ecliple.fe… To RemoveUnder the Pending Changes section it says “Managed Changes: 1 change”. When I hit the “Apply 1 change” button I get the error that I have told you.
Also I was seeing this error, since the groovy plugin was not under the Personal Software section, I checked the C:\Program Files\Genuitec\Common\features, and the plugin files were still there, and in myeclipse workspace I can still use the groovy plugin in my projects.
Tolga
support-joyMemberTolga,
How did you add groovy plugin to your ME 8.5 profile? Can you send me a screenshot of your MyEclipse Configuration Center > Software tab showing My Software > Personal as well as Pending Changes section? This will help me get a visual. You can either [pm] the screenshot or send a mail to support@genuitec.com, please add a reference of this weblink and add ATTN:Joy in the subject, this will help in quick tracing.
Thank you.
Tolga UmutParticipantI went to MyEclipse Configuration Center Software Tab. From here I added the groovy site http://dist.springsource.org/milestone/GRECLIPSE/e3.5/.
I am emailing the picture to you.
Thanks
Tolga
support-joyMemberTolga,
Thank you for the update site. I am afraid I couldn’t install Groovy plugin using the above update site.
I followed below mentioned steps to install –
1. From MyEclipse IDE, click on Help > MyEclipse Configuration Center
2. Choose Software tab, search for Groovy plugin using *search textbox* option under Browse Software
3. This will list Groovy under Pulse Catalog > Browse Categories > Languages. Right click on the same and click on [Add to profile]
4. This will list 1 managed change under Pending Changes
5. Click on [Apply 1 change]I haven’t received the screenshot yet. Can you please send the same, this will help me investigate this issue further. Also include com.genuitec.pulse.client.handshake.id. Open MyEclipse IDE, from menu options click on Help > About MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench > Installation Details. Choose Configuration tab. This is listed under *** System properties.
Best.
Tolga UmutParticipantHi Joy,
I just used the [pm] to send you the image for the MyEclispe Configuration Center image.
The previous update site had a dot at the end, that might have been the problem
http://dist.springsource.org/milestone/GRECLIPSE/e3.5/
Try this without the dot, and here are my steps for adding this
1. Go to software tab
2. Click on “add site”
3. In the Add Update Site
Name: Groovy
URL: http://dist.springsource.org/milestone/GRECLIPSE/e3.5/
4. Hit Ok
5. Under Browse Software/Personal Sites you will see Groovy
6. Expend Groovy and under it you will see the Groovy-Eclipse > Groovy-Eclipse Feature
7. Double click on Groovy-Eclipse Feature
8. This should add the feature as a pending change
9. Apply the change.Tolga
support-joyMemberTolga,
Thank you for the screenshot. I have used the update site without the dot in the end and couldn’t add groovy plugin. Groovy plugin is not added to your ME 8.5 profile. Please note that it doesn’t list under My Software > Personal. Notice Software Updates Available, lists dependency issues and also lists Managed Changes – org.codehaus.groovy.eclipse.feature.
I would recommend you do the following – On the software tab, under Browse Categories > Languages > Groovy. Select Groovy, right click on the same and click on [remove from profile]. And follow the wizard.
Next to add groovy plugin, please follow the above mentiones steps.
5. Click on [Apply 1 change]Let me know how this works for you.
Best.
Tolga UmutParticipantThere is not Remove from profile option. I have [pm]’ed you the screen shot.
Tolga
support-joyMemberTolga,
Thank you for the screenshot. Can you send me a screenshot of MyEclipse Configuration Center > Software tab > My Recently Added Software? This will help me get a visual of the 3rd party plugins you have added to your ME profile. I believe, you are facing dependency issues related to installed plugins.
Tolga UmutParticipantI have pm’ed the image you asked for.
Thanks
Tolga
support-joyMemberTolga,
Thank you for the screenshot. I have escalated your issue to dev team. They will get back to you on this.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
support-joyMemberNote for other users facing same issue.
This issue was resolved by going for a clean re-install. The steps are mentioned below –
1. Run the uninstaller.
2. Make sure the MyEclipse Install Directory has been completely removed
2.1. Pulse Install Directory, on XP it’s under C:\Program Files in \Pulse or \Genuitec, and on Vista it’s under <USER.HOME>\AppData\Local and then under \Pulse or \Genuitec again
3. Then make sure the pulse2.locator file under <USER.HOME> is erased as well
4. Install ME 8.5 using either all-in-one installer from the download site or use pulse to download. -
