Peter StrotmannMemberHi,
I just installed myEclipse ide and try to get somewhat familiar with it. But no helpfunction works. If I click some, I get a processing message and nothing happens.
I think you agree, that an ide with no help function at all is not that worthful,

Peter StrotmannMemberHi,
this reply is made by myself to make my post some more precise.
I click help/welcome/overview
and the Overview screen displays 🙂
Now that I think the link ‘MyEclipse User Interface Tools’ should contain some useful information I click it .
All I see is a processing bar moving forward and when it is ready I get an empty frame titled ‘Help – Eclipse SDK’
Even If I click ‘Help/Help Contents’ I get the same empty frame. The same click in pure/native eclipse leads me to the help menue.
It would be nice to get all the useful information, that had been enterered with a lot of effort by the myEclipse folks.
Peter
Loyal WaterMemberIf you go to Help > Help contents > MyEclipse Learning Center > Overview > User Interface Development tools, are you able to see the window that shows up?
Can you go to MyEclispe > Installation Summary > Installation Details and paste the information here for me.
Peter StrotmannMemberHi Nipun,
I cannot go beyond Help > Help contents, if I do so I get the processing bar and after this the empty transparent frame entitled ‘Help – Eclipse SDK’, as I posted before.
Here is the paste from MyEclispe > Installation Summary > Installation Details:

Loyal WaterMemberCan you check if the Web Browser from the Toolbar works. You can navigate to something like http://www.google.com and check if it opens up.

A click on the browser from the Toolbar leads to the following crash:

Peter StrotmannMemberHi Nipun,
sorry for my last post, I clicked the wrong browser shortcut, the tabbed one beside the console tab. The browser shortcut from the toolbar works fine with myeclipseide.com and I’m writing this reply from it.
By the way, could it be a problem of 64-bit architecture. I installed myeclipse on a 32 bit version of ubuntu and eclipse in a virtual machine and help is working fine.
Peter
Riyad KallaMemberPeter,
I was just going to point that out, yes the 64-bit platform is the issue, it’s not tested with MyEclipse nor is the 64-bit VM (if you are using one). What you might be able to do, so you don’t need the entire VM, is to uncompress 32-bit Sun JRE 1.5.0_11, 32-bit Eclipse “Classic” 3.3 and MyEclipse all to a dir under your home dir somewhere and use all those pieces together.
Sorry for the trouble.
