I have NOT installed any other pluggins. I suddenly started to get this exception when I tried to open the HQL Editor (which was working previously).

After getting this exception I got any current updates to existing features and installed those, but still get the error. I am using Version 6.0.1 GA Build id: 6.0.1-GA-200710

I also uninstalled MyEclipse 6.0.1 and installed the latest 6.5 version. I’m still getting this exception.

Any ideas? Here is the exception:

When you said it was working fine before, which version was that – MyEclipse 5.5?

From the stack trace, there seems to be a problem with your configuration file. If you right click on your project, go to properties and then MyEclipse > Hibernate, can you ensure that a valid Hibernate configuration file is selected? This configuration file must be a member of the same project. Could you paste the contents of the .myhibernatedata file in your project here?

Ahhhhh! No valid coinfiguration file must be the issue – not sure how it is no longer present (maybe mistakenly deleted). How can I re-generate or do I have to write manually – if so, what contents? Thanks for your help!!

Correction: the myhibernatedata file is what is missing so MyEclipse->Hibernate not aware of my Hibernate.cfg.

Note, the file is .myhibernatedata (because it starts with a period, it may be hidden by default, you would need top disable the filter in the Package Explorer view or just have a look at that same project Windows Explorer).

In any case, go to the property page I pointed out earlier, does it point to a valid, existing Hibernate configuration file? If not, use the browse button to reselect your configuration file. If you do not have a configuration file (unlikely if you have a working Hibernate application), you will need to create one from scratch, you can use our Hibernate configuration file wizard to create one and then you can populate it using our form based editor (which will open on double click).

In the unlikely event that you are actually missing the .myhibernatedata file in your project, let us know so we can direct you further.

Issue Resolved. I was able to cheat off one of my other projects to regen the myhibernatedata file, copy to my current project, change the entry to point to my hibernate.cfg and all is well. Now project properties->MyEclipse->Hibernate properly displays my cfg file. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction 😉
