I have a JFrame Matisse Class with a JLabel in it. I want to rename the jLabel1 to something more meaningful. I right-click on it and the menu flashes, but disappears.

I erased the Eclipse directory, reinstalled it and MyEclipse, but I get the same thing. Furthermore, when I try the right-click, my PC goes bonkers. It just freezes for a while. (I have a dual Opteron and 2 GB memory!).

So I can’t do development any more.

    Help please,
    Jim

    Jim,
My guess is that you are running one of the beta or nightly builds of JDK 6, the event dispatch model changed a bit and in the early betas it made Matisse get all screwy with the event processing. The fix is to update to the latest nightly build (I think it’s in the 100s now) or step down to 1.5.0_09 release. You can check the JDK that MyEclipse is being run with under the MyEclipse menu, then Installation Summary and Installation Details (post that information for me if that does not fix your problem BTW)
