I have just downloaded MyEclipse to evaluate it for use in developing J2EE apps to run on WebSphere 5.1 (unfortunately).
I have a local WAS 5.1 instance that works fine outside of MyEclipse and is at the latest fixpack level.
When I try to run the server, it says Running briefly and then returns to Stopped. It does not log anything. If I change the server name from the name of my instance to “localhost” I get an error logged, but that is the only time I get anything logged.
Help! I will purchase this product if I can get a WebService up and running on WAS in the next few days using it!
I seem to have figured it out. It seems that I was pointing to my standard JRE and I figured out how to point it to the IBM JRE that WebSphere requires.
