letz_codeMemberI installed Eclipse 3.2 ( using the eclipse-SDK-3.2-win32.zip) and MyEclipse ( using MyEclipseEnterpriseWorkbenchInstaller_5.0M2_E3.2.exe ). During the MyEclipse installation I pointed to the Eclipse 3.2 version. Everything seems to install fine, but when I start up MyEclipse and select the workspace I get a Error pop up window which says “An error has occured see the log file \metadata\.log for details”. AFter I close out of this error window MyEclipse exits.
Following is a snippet of the log:
!ENTRY org.eclipse.osgi 4 0 2006-07-12 11:12:12.926

Can you please post all the information we request in the Posting Guidelines thread at the top of this forum? That will give us some context so that we can determine if this is an installation issue, a configuration problem, or a bug. Thanks.
Scott AndersonParticipantSorry you’re having a problem. However, I think the fix is simple.
The issue is likely that the Eclipse plugin cache got stale as it sometimes
does not cleanly rebuild after updates. To rectify the problem you’ll need
to restart Eclipse with the -clean flag one time: eclipse.exe -clean
letz_codeMemberI tried starting up using Eclipse.exe -clean but I ran into same problem.

isrdevMemberIf you are having problems regarding plugins I think I have a suggestion based on the experience I had:
I downloaded the ZIP for Eclipse 3.2 and simply opened it in XP and copied and pasted it. I noticed that the paste process would just die somewhere in the middle. Upon looking closely I was able to pinpoint which files wouldn’t copy properly and thus, killed the whole process. It seemed it was an issue with the overall file path being too long. I then did the extraction with an actual ZIP program (StuffIt in my case) and it all went smoothly. If you originally tried extracting the ZIP from the built-in XP ZIP handling then maybe give WinZip or something else a try.
Just a suggestion

paddypMemberThank you for that Scott – it worked. Upgraded to 1.4.2
