Hello,

I have used a little more than 1 year ago this wonderful plugin that is MyEclipse. However, I had payed at that time only around 5$ for a year. So now, I need this wonderful plugin again, and I’m wondering, seeing the cost for standard membership is 30$: has the price gone up so much in only a year, or am I missing something ?
I really did not mind paying 5$. But now I will need MyEclipse for like 2-3 months, and it would kinda hurt to pay 30$ for it, however brilliant and comfortable is the tool.

There must be some confusion here. We’ve never changed the pricing for MyEclipse. The Standard Edition has been $29.95 / year / developer since it was initially launched in 2003, in spite of the fact that the product has grown to be a complete tier-1 IDE. Our pricing has always been the most affordable in the industry and we’ve continued to improve on the value by adding numerous new features with each release, but it’s never been priced at $5.

However, think of your time as money, because it is. Your time is valuable and likely you use your time to make money, like we all do. How much time does MyEclipse need to save you to justify the $30 for a year of use? What is $30 in terms of your time? 30 minutes? an hour? So, even if you only need it for 2 months I’ll wager you’ll save $30 worth of your time in the first couple of days of use. So spend a tiny amount of money to get yourself the best tools. You’re worth it! 🙂

Thanks for your answer! Well, I’m kind of confused, I don’t know why I was persuaded of the 5$ price.

But you’re right, this plug-in truly kicks ass, so I think I will spend the 30$ anyway.
