i really like to work with the myeclipse html editor, so i wondered if it is possible to open also other files which are not html but contain html code in the editor view.

e.g. i have some template files calles .tpl to configure the style from phpBB. they are containing html code, but are just renamed .tpl to show that these are templates.
as i have no other editor with code highlighting i thought using myeclipse, but i havend found out how to open the .tpl file with the html editor

Yes, it’s possible and rather simple. 🙂
You need to associate the extension .tpl with the HTML editor at Window > Preferences > General > Editor > File associations > Add…

Once you’ve done that, the HTML editor will be able to open your .tpl files by right-clicking and selecting Open With…
