I have my own eclipse plugin. After installing 5.5M1 I can no longer open that project.
The xml/snaps etc. have grabbed plugin.xml, can’t find way to re-aim required jar files etc.
    Any suggestions?

    Kurt,

The issue is probably that you used our “all-in-one” installer and we didn’t include the Eclipse PDE in that distribution. We’ll certainly fix that and include it in 5.5M2 and later builds. We just didn’t realize how many of our users were also plugin developers in addition to being enterprise Java developers. 🙂

The problem is easy to fix, however. Simply navigate to Help > Software Updates > Find and install… > Search for updates to currently installed features… and then select the Eclipse Project Update Site. When the wizard returns with options, you’ll see several PDE / RCP features. You should select to install them all. After the workbench restarts after installation, you’ll be “good to go”.

    Thanks Scott,

I did the update and was able to restore the plugin dependency jars. A remaining problem however is that the plugin.xml file has lost it’s ‘editor’ – is there a way to restore the link between plugin.xml and the normal view that eclipse provides? Right now the snaps are opening it.

    Thanks for the help.

Ah, all I needed to do was select ‘open with’ on plugin.xml, then I was able to find the view I needed. Ok, I’m good to go again, thanks Scott.
