    Hi,

Not exactly sure which forum this belongs in, so I thought I’d post here in “comments”.

Since upgrading to version 5, I’ve noticed that the scrollbar in the console has a whole heap of empty space down the bottom. I scroll around quite a lot in there to see the output from Tomcat and the log4j stuff (on DEBUG level we output every SQL statement sent to the DB). Once I find what I was looking for, I used to just scroll all the way to the bottom to see the latest output, but the empty space is forcing me to scroll around again just to find the last bit of output. (I know about turning scroll lock on and off, but that’s not the point.)

I’m just wondering whether that’s a bug or a “feature”, whether it’s configurable somewhere to get it back the way it was in MyEclipse 4.x, whether it’s purely an Eclipse issue, whether it’s annoying anyone else, etc. Any comment appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Amos

    Amos,

I believe that any change you’re seeing is an “Eclipse issue” since we don’t make any changes or enhancements to the Console view. There are several bugs at Eclipse about the Console and several of them might be causing what you’re describing; or, it could simple be an “enahancement” by the team that you’re not crazy about. 🙂

Thought it might be – thanks for the info. Here’s to hoping they’ll fix it soon 😉
