This has happened twice now. A message that reads “CodeMix Engine is not connected” appears directly under the file tabs and then Eclipse freezes. I had to hard reset Eclipse both times, causing me to lose progress on my unsaved files. This is a extremely frustrating issue causing disruption to my workflow and progress.

Oof, not at all what we’d want you to experience. Is it possible when it happens to use the rest of your system? (I imagine so) – if so, could you please use jstack to get a stack trace of your Eclipse when it is hung? This will allow us to quickly detect the root cause of the lockup and either provide a path to avoid it or ensure we pick up a fix in the next maintenance release (we can also give you a plugin export with the fix to get you going quicker).

Sorry we did not get back here earlier – your dump was invaluable in helping us understand what was going wrong, thank you for taking the trouble to generate one and send it in.
There are a couple of issues here – the first is the fact that the engine is disconnecting, and the second is that when this happens, the Eclipse UI freezes as well and cannot be recovered. While we are still looking into reasons for the former, we have a fix for the latter, if the engine disconnects, it will now recover without you having to hard-reset Eclipse and lose work.
We will follow up shortly with instructions on how you can apply a fix to your current installation.
