When I’ve modified a file (or a task) the color is purple.

Not very user friendly, because it’s absolutly not readable for a human.

Hello Nymeria! Thanks for reporting this issue. Fortunately there’s an easy workaround to this issue you can apply while we work on a solution:

Go to Window > Preferences, Then expand General > Appearance > Colors and Fonts. There look for “Task – Active” and hit “Edit…” to select a different color (see screenshot attached).

Happy to report that we’ve rolled out Darkest Dark 2017 CI 3 which includes a nice new color swapping technology that allows all these sorts of colors to work.

Once you update, you should no longer receive any problem using Mylyn!

Hello Nymeria, I wanted to reproduce the issue with the Color you see in the modified files. What is the repository plugins you are using for such files? I tried Subversive and Subclipse but I do not get the same color. Additional details that could help are:

    – Eclipse Version
    – plugins and versions used that could be providing that color
    – Is the color customizable in any Preference page in Window > preference? (like “colors and fonts” or “SVN” pages)
    – If you switch to a different workspace, do you see the same issue?
    – Is it possible that you had configured manually this color in the past?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello,

    -I have eclipse neon (4.6)
    – I use subclipse, collabNet for svn
-I also have “jeeeyul’s theme” plugin

It look like the issue only happen when I’ve activated a mylin task and modify one of files registred into mylin.

If I modify a file outsite mylin context, it does not take this color.

Hey guys, I wanted to replicate the issue but I have zero experience with Mylyn. Could you guys please give details on how can I replicate this dark-purple foreground color in Eclipse Explorer? also, what does that color usually represents in mylyn?

    Thanks in advance,
    Aaron

    Hello,

In mylin, you can create a task and activate a context.

When this context is actived, it will me memorize all files you have opened (very usefull in big project).

So, when I modify a file registred in the mylin context, I get this color.

Hey there! Happy to announce we have a fix for this issue and it will be available in our next release.

Turns out Mylyn has some hardcoded colors (check here the source if you are corious)

Do you see that note? // TODO: use themes? ლ(ಠ益ಠ)ლ …… (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

Anyways, we have a fix! YAY!!! \,,/(^_^)\,,/

Hello, I have a similar problem of not being able to read some information in my IDE.

In my case the projects in “Project Explorer”, “Navigation” and “Preferences” for example(you can check the attachment).

Do you know if it might be related to some conflict with another plugin? In particular, I have to use the JBoss Tools plugin.

    I’m using:

Eclipse Java EE IDE for Web Developers.
    Version: Oxygen Release Milestone 5 (4.7.0 M5)
    Build id: 20170202-1353
(complete list of installed plugins inside attachment)

@renatosantos, your attachment was not uploaded because it exceeds the allowed size. Can you try with a smaller ScreenShot?

Also, Oxigen M5 is missing some fixes from Eclipse. you can Try Oxigen M6 from http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/index-developer.php. I have tried this version and it works better with Darkest Dark.

    Cheers! Aaron Lara
