I downloaded the complete install and had install shield do it all.
When re-opening a workspace used in 5.0 there was not visual editor and the Matisse therefore also does not appear. I examined the error log and it says that there was no descriptor for the visual editor.

Should I be looking at something else to reset?

Sorry for the confusion, the visual designer (Matisse4MyEclipse) still needs to be installed using the Discovery Site. We appologize for the confusion and are looking at bundling it in a future release, although there are advantages to us keeping it installed separately.
