I have been waiting (and paying for subscription) for a long time now and been promised “configurable deployment”. Have I missed something or has that feature been scrapped.

I have to jump through hoops to cut out my test classes when deploying to live and this should be automated under your “exploded/packaged deployment to server” configuration.

It could be as simple as specifying a wildcard for packages/classes that are not to be deployed for the “live” configuration.

I have a new project starting soon and having three other people involved will have to look for alternatives (ugh – back to Ant or Maven) wheras I was going to get a group licence!!

Basically; when is this facility arriving?

    balance,
The intent for a while now has been to deliver this, but I think I’ve been doing a poor job keeping this in the fore-front of management’s attention so it got swept up. We are also looking at some potentially sweeping changes to 7.0 that would further postpone a change like this.

I am creating a very short list of “users are going to riot without these additions” that I am presenting to management later this week, and this is on that list.

Add weight to the case telling them three ex Sun Seniour Architects will be involved in the project and they are, as you can guess, very influential. This project WOULD have been their first use of MyEclipse.

this is what I am being pushed towards as its support for seam is soooooo much better.
These are, after all, just eclipse plugins so I was very keen to stay with MyEclipse.
