I’m sure this is a FAQ b/c it’s happened to me before, but I couldn’t find it anywhere.

When I try to install the latest version of MyEclipse (EnterpriseWorkbenchInstaller_030802.exe) on Windows XP – I get a LaunchAnywhere Error:

    Could not launch executable.
    Could not load jvm.dll

Any ideas? I’m using JDK 1.4.2_04.

    Thanks,

    Matt

P.S. I’m hoping to make a run at integrating AppFuse with MyEclipse tonight – any pointers?

I would highly suggest first making sure your Java install is not corrupt, then I’d grab the manual install for MyEclipse… its great for working around installer issues like this and there are step-by-step instructions included.

Same problem with JDK 5.0.6 and Eclipse 3.02 and MyEclipse 3.8.4 : VERY FRUSTRATING…
BUT I JUST FOUND THE PROBLEM: I removed the jre directory in JDK because
I already had it in a separate directory. This is
a bad idea: I suppose LaunchAnywhere is looking in JAVA_HOME…

So putting back the “jre” directory in the JDK directory solved the issue for me.

We have updated the installer packs for MyEclipse 5.0, we were using an older version of InstallAnywhere that was extremely flaky on a lot of different setups.
