MobiOne crashes when I try to test, no html or javascript files are created. App is image intensive, I have plenty of RAM and CPU.

What does “crash” mean core dump, kaput, … other?

Would you be willing to share your design file(s) with me to research further? If yes send your *.mobi files to support at genuitec dot com and include my name (Wayne) in the title.

Hi sorry for the short (and hopefully sweet) post, but I had a more descriptive one which it wouldn’t let me post (just came up with some generic apache submission error.. nothing specific) and yes the text was under 60000 characters.

    By crash I mean:

1 The generating html, css and javascript box disappears,
    1a MobiOne designer remains open,
1b MobiOne test centre does not open,
1c MobiOne continues to hold 370 – 450MB of memory,
1d MobiOne drops all CPU time,
1e MobiOne creates an export directory, but does not put any generated content in it,
1e MobiOne designer continues to function.

My app is image intensive, I think it might be an memory error linked the to 32bit application and the Java virtual machine. However I’m not an expert here are my system stats for your reference:

    Windows 7 x64,
    2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo,
    4GB DDR3 RAM.

Sorry at the moment I’m not able to distribute the files. Using the back function (I asked about in another post) will reduce the number of pages by 4-6, maybe this will help it. I will get back to you when I make the back function changes, let you know how it goes. Thanks.

MobiOne has now gone completely bonkers, it creates html files for each .mobi file, no links work and some pages are not formatted correctly.

uninstalled and wont reinstall, comes up with an error something about cant create short cut, its also broken my windows explorer link on the taskbar…… not happy.

Now I suppose I’v got to do system restore, I wish people would test their programs correctly.

Will update on the crash when I manage to get the software working.

    Hi James,

I’m sorry you are experiencing troubles with your MobiOne use. I can’t say I’ve seen mobione get so out of sorts in the manner you describe. Also the uninstall-IE access issue is troubling. If I can be of assistance please ping me. We can take this conversation offline if needed. Just send me a private message and I’ll sync w/ you by email or more immediate means if needed, e.g., skype…

I need to reinstall my OS at the moment, these problems with mobione seem to has cause some bad sectors in my hard drive which is preventing a system restore and it doesn’t seem to want to do a disk scan. Furthermore upon restart my system half my applications have dissappeared, even Internet Explorer which you cant even uninstall! Also just to note my skype and messenger have disappeared so no chat, however firefox has been resilient as ever.

Hopefully everything will be working correctly when a fresh OS is in.

I’ll give you an update on the origional issue when I have reinstalled the OS and tested with a fresh MobiOne install.

    Thanks.

Ok so I’m in the process of configuring my laptop…..

I tried the export on my work pc, and managed to export the whole lot from a screen somewhere in the middle of the application. However when I went to the root screen I continued to have the same problems as before, I’m completely baffled!

Now I have those export files is there some code I can modify to change the first screen to load?

Solved….. I believe it was because I had the HTML file open.

I just had the same problem using trial version 2.3.1 (20130121)

    symptoms:
I was unable to generate the html files.
I was unable to start the test center using the “run in the test center” button.

    observations:
I didn’t have any of the project files or generated files open elsewhere.
my disk doesn’t have a bad sector.
When I’ve created a new blank project, I was able to generate the files and run in the test center.

    Resolved:
So, to fix the problem in my faulty project, I’ve deleted the res directory and those files:
    .codegen.cache.json
    .myproject.json
    cache.manifest
    myproject.html

I hope this will help anyone else that will run into this problem.

    cheers,
    Simon.

My program self updated to 2.3.1 but now doesn’t work. Everytime it opens it immediately closes.

I tried reinstalling and reinsalling into a different directory but it still crashes as soon as it loads.

    Help.

    @stevs.net

I have seen where the program’s metadata gets goofed up on some occasions (don’t know the cause atm). Please try deleting the mobione .metadata directory:

    1) open File Explorer
    2) navigate to your home directory, on my system C:\Users\Wayne
    3) look for the directory named .mobione if you don’t see it configure the File Explorer to show hidden files, i.e., files and directories that start with a dot character
    4) delete the directory <user home>\.mobione\runtime\.metadata
    5) launch mobione
    – does it startup correctly now?
