Is it possible to change css auto completion from pressing ctrl+space to starting while typing letters?

I am afraid there is no other way to get auto complete to work in CSS apart from invoking Ctrl+Space.

Just wanted to add that we’re taking this down as an enhancement request – cannot commit to any dates now, though.

Are you interested in this sort of auto completion only for the CSS editor?

Yes, this would be great.
I’m also missing id or class element suggestions in css, like we have it in adobe brackets or dreamweaver.
After typing “#” I get a suggestion for all id elements already defined.
