CSS not updated via Sync-on-Demand for JSF?

To effect changes in the CSS we needed to redeploy our JSF application (exploded war). Otherwise we were not able to view the changes in the browser. Should this not be performed via the Sync-on-Demand?

The test configuration is a JSF 1.1 web project developed on 3.8.4 (Linux) deployed to JBoss 4.0.1SP1 …

It seems to work correctly with 3.1BETA on linux.

I have a related question to the Sync-On-Demand feature for JSF/JSPs.

We frequently had to redeploy our exploded WAR to get the pages displayed correctly under 3.1 BETA on Linux to JBoss4 .. .

Any idea why ?
