cgkuserMemberWhat’s going on with the Database Explorer QuickStart and the Hibernate QuickStart? The old Hibernate QuickStart used MySQL and referenced table(s) (such as “Bonus”) which were not available? It looks like these tables preexisted in Oracle somehow, but not MySQL and there was no info on how to create them.
If I follow the “Database Explorer QuickStart” (Revision 12/28/2005) and then the “MyEclipse Hibernate QuickStart” (Revision 12/28/2005) is everything going to work? My brief review now seems to indicate that everything is now 🙁 done in MySQL. If I complete the “Database Explorer QuickStart”, will everthing be there for the “MyEclipse Hibernate QuickStart”?
This has been very confusing!

So you are right that the online quickstarts arent using the same DB technology. However the in-product ones do.
cgkuserMemberThis is way too disjointed and incomplete. You need to go back to the beginning and:
(1) Create a SQL script to be run before the Hibernate QuickStart that creates the necessary tables for ALL DBMS’s.
(2) Go through the Hibernate step-by-step to make sure that it works.I’ve spent two days on this and I still can’t get it to work properly.

We are reviewing and addressing this issue now. I expect it to be squared away for the 4.1GA release.
