    Can you please provide concise instructions on how to use JNDI to access a data source? Or a link to relevant documentation.

    What version of BIRT/Reports are you using? This capability was relatively recently add to BIRT and there is some delay before new BIRT versions get integrated into MyEclipse.

    I’m using MyEclipse 7.0, which supports BIRT 2.3.1.

    The upgrade now gives me the option to enter a JNDI URL. I previously could not get the “hacks” to work. I’ll let you know the upgrade works shortly.

    Actually, the upgrade did nothing all. I had changed the XML tag to “org.eclipse.birt.report.data.oda.jdbc” which caused the UI to bring up diffent window that didn’t work anyway. Having tried every hack I can find, myEclipse Reports will not use JNDI. Unless someone has some additional suggestions I’ll have to look elsewhere for a reporting solution. I can’t deploy a web application in production using a hard coded JDBC connection. I spent a week building a demo application under the assumption that JNDI would work. Well, you know what they say about assuming….
