LarryMemberWindowsXP, Eclispe2.11, fresh install of eclipse. Installed MyEclipse Workbench 2.5.1 (7/27). Start eclipse, accept changes, restart. Open Debugger and a “Problems Showing View” Dialog appears with the following message:
An error has occurred while restoring the view: org.eclipse.debug.ui.DebugView
Reason:
An error has occurred while resotring the view: org.eclipse.debug.ui.DebugViewThis error must be from the Department of Redundancy Department 🙂
Anyway, if I unistall MyEclipse workbench and restart eclipse, the debug view comes up just like normal.
Please help? I took a shot at getting this environment setup, sort of under the gun (my mistake) but it would be nice to get a workaround asap.
Thanks in Advance,
Larry
Scott AndersonParticipantLarry,
I’ve never seen this particular problem before, so we’ll have to dig in to diagnose it? Are you sure you have the complete, final release of Eclipse 2.1.1? What is the build id (Help > About Eclipse Platform)? How many plugins does it have that begin with org.eclipse.pde.*? Which JDK are you running with? Are there any other external plugins installed in the Eclipse installation?
I still need the answers to the above questions, but to try a reinstallation I’d do this:
1) Uninstall MyEclipse
2) Launch Eclipse. Verify proper debug fuctionality.
3) Close ALL perspectives, except the Resource Perspective.
4) Relaunch Eclipse to verify it’s still happy and close it immediately.
5) Run MyEclipse Installer.
6) Launch Eclipse and accept new features.
7) Should be good to go.–Scott

It’s not. You’ve got yourself a pre-release of 2.1.0 there. Yikes! The links for the latest Eclipse releases are also available on our downloads page, for convenience.
