Java Build Path looks ok, and I deploy to an external JBoss 5. Any ideas?
Thanks
support-swapnaModeratorfcurrabm,
Sorry that you are seeing this issue.
Can you please answer some more questions for us ?
1. Can you tell us what kind of projects are these? Have you added any capabilities to your web projects?
2. Were you prompted to upgrade the projects when working with them on MyEclipse 10.6 – and did you choose to upgrade or cancel the operation?
3. Can you send us the .project file and all the files in the .settings folder of the project to help us investigate further- you can mail them to support@genuitec.com ATTN Swapna with a link to this thread.
4. Can you try creating a brand new web project (just use the defaults) and deploy that – does that work without errors?
Let us know how it works for you.
fcurrabmMemberHi swapna,
Thanks for your reply. Answers below
1) Is a web project, capabilities are: Web, Javascript, Java Server Faces and ICEFaces; as stated in Project properties -> MyEclipse tab
2) I wasn’t prompted to upgrade the projects as far as I remember. Actually I had this problem in my previous MyEclipse 9 and based on previous post mentioned I tried the latest version looking for a fix. But issue was not fixed.
3) Email sent.
4) Worked fine. Deployment is not really the issue, is compiling. Web project fails to compile, i.e. click in “Project” -> “Clean…” -> “Clean projects selected below…”; then fails with the null exception.
I’ll try to replace the Web project with a previous version from our CVS repository. Just trying to identify if was a particular change that triggered this issue.
fcurrabmMemberI think I’m close to the solution.
The web .classpath was modified recently and these entries were added:
<classpathentry kind="con" path="melibrary.com.genuitec.eclipse.icefaces.MYECLIPSE_ICEfaces_Core_JSF2_200"/> <classpathentry kind="con" path="melibrary.com.genuitec.eclipse.icefaces.MYECLIPSE_ICEfaces_Ice_JSF2_200"/> <classpathentry kind="con" path="melibrary.com.genuitec.eclipse.icefaces.MYECLIPSE_ICEfaces_Push_JSF2_200"/> <classpathentry kind="con" path="melibrary.com.genuitec.eclipse.icefaces.MYECLIPSE_ICEfaces_Ace_JSF2_200"/>
The error disappear when I remove those entries from the classpath.
I compared the add-ons and software installed on my version 10.6 with a colleague’s ME 10.0, and I noticed that mine doesn’t include the software ‘ICEFaces Support for MyEclipse’.
I’m guessing that’s the reason why it fails and also why didn’t worked on my previous ME 9.
My problem now is I can’t find it to install it.
I’m searching the MyEclipse Configuration Center, under ‘Software’ tab and ‘Pulse Catalog’, but can’t see the ICEFaces Support software anywhere. Has it been removed? Or should I search it under a different name?
fcurrabmMemberProblem solved.
Didn’t realised the ‘ICEFaces Support for MyEclipse’ was in the Dashboard! Added and now Web project compiles smoothly as before.
Thanks team.
support-swapnaModeratorfcurrabm,
