We’ve an edict from upon high that states that all source files must be checked in using UNIX line endings.

Whilst it is possible to change these on a per-file basis (Source/Convert Line Delimiters) it would be a very nice feature (for me anyway!) if it was possible to specify that all files created could be of a given line ending format – rather than the default OS format. It’d stop me from annoying other people within the team!

FYI – I tried this by passing in a -D line.seperator duing startup but something went rather pear-shaped with that!

Duley noted, however this does seem more like an Eclipse enhancement request since its general editor behavior that would benefit everyone. But hey, if enough fo you watn this, we’ll do it 😉

    True,
But within Window/Prefrences/MyEclipse/CSS you have a “use line ending when creating/saving a file” (as does HTML, JavaScript, JSP and XML). It just seems that a Java entry, or better yet a global setting (within Common Editor Preferences?) would seem like something that was missed during implementation…
