Eclipse 2.1.1 crashes now when I try to start up Tomcat 4 from within the Eclipse IDE. It crashes for both the sysdeo plug-in and MyEclipse. If I revert back to a configuration from before I installed MyEclipse the Sysdeo one works fine. The only things that have been added since the working configuration are MyEclipse and EasyStruts. Any ideas on why it would crash? Thanks in advance.

    Keven,

The Sysdeo plugin makes both classloader and configuration file modifications to your Tomcat configuration. These modifications are incompatible with MyEclipse. In order to test MyEclipse properly, I’d suggest you create a clean Eclipse 2.1.1 installation in parallel with your current one and install MyEclipse on that. Additionally, you’ll probably need to also have another Tomcat installation. This is much more reliable than trying to manually back out the Sysdeo modifications. Once you have a full parallel environment configured you shouldn’t have any problems and you can then evaluate both products and make an informed decision.
