I have a project that I’m working on with another person. We both have the professional versions of eclipse downloaded on separate machines. How do we set up are code so that we are working on the same project? Meaning being able to check files in and out?

    Tricia,

You can use CVS/SVN or Git.While MyEclipse has built client support for CVS, you will need to install the Subclipse/Subversive plugin to MyEclipse for SVN client support and EGit plugin for Git support. The plugins must be compatible with the base Eclipse version of MyEclipse. Ex : If you are working with MyEclipse 2015, then the plugin must be compatible with Eclipse Luna 4.4.

To setup a new CVS repository in MyEclipse, you can right click on your project > Team > Share Project and follow the wizard.

Here is a tutorial for CVS in Eclipse. You can follow the same steps for MyEclipse : http://help.eclipse.org/mars/index.jsp?topic=%2Forg.eclipse.platform.doc.user%2FgettingStarted%2Fqs-60_team.htm

Hope this helps.Let us know if you see any issues.

    Tricia,

EGit is already included in MyEclipse 2015, so you do not need to install it. For versions earlier than MyEclipse 2015, you need to install the EGit plugin for Git support.

Let us know if you have any questions.
