Hi All,
I am trying to do ssh or telnet connection from my eclipse on pc to unix machine. So I launched a Command prompt using “External Tool Launcher” feature of eclipse. Command prompt opened when I type telnet <machine name> nothing happens??. Can I execute telnet command from command prompt which is opened inside the eclipse??.
In nutshell I want to be able to connect to unix machine using ssh or telnet from eclipse and be able to use vi command and execute shell scripts.
Can anyone suggest me how I can do this inside the eclipse?.
Do I need to use any plugin for this purpose??.If I have to use plugin for this purpose, please advise me any good plugins for this.

I agree. I would like to run shell scripts as well. I would rather not leave the eclipse environment for such tasks

Anyone know anything about this???. I need to do telnet and be able to do vi…..

For using vi on unix machine from Windows (I suppose that you have Windows on PC – if it is unix/linux you can launch xterm, konsole or some other terminal program) you have to set some terminal emulator and launch it – you can search for telnet client or terminal emulator like netterm, crt etc.You launch emulator and call unix machine.

I don’t understand why you can’t use standard command prompt (out of eclipse)

It isn’t clear how to do this, when you want to run interactively. Instead of using CMD I would like to use Cygwin bash. The best I can do so far allows me to use a prompt but the input and output isn’t working properly and gets confusing.
