I can’t get 3.8B1 to install on Eclipse RC2, is this supposed to work?

I guess I’ll have to wait for 3.8B-2?

Also how do I get my email off of the forum lists and get a more normal username?

Yes, it will work, use the manual install. The installer looks for a certain file that the Eclipse team changed for the RC2 release, so the identifying file that our installer looks for is no longer there, so it gets confused.

    Does this do it? http://www.myeclipseide.com/user.php?op=edituser

Can’t change my display name (no field for that). My “real name” is my name and it’s not showing up in the forum.

I’ve asked our admin to take a look.

Changing the name in the database is a trivial matter and would have been very easy to do before membership upgrade. Your access key is determined in part by your user ID. Changing the user name in our database will render member services available through the portal useless since it is based on your user information. For Example, you will not be able to retrieve your access information if you ever loose it.

We can change your user name if you send us an email to Subscriptions@myeclipseide.com, only with the above caveat

About RC2 support: Is there any reason to download the RC2-compatible version if I’m not experiencing any problems?

Nope, we just updated the installer so it would recognize RC2 as a valid Eclipse install.
