I attempting to install 7.5 (from 7.1 on my Mac) via Help->Software Updates->Check for Updates…

I get the following error message:

An unexpected error occurred validating the selected profile.

Reason:
This profile can not be resolved because required software could not be located.

I am currently on Window XP. I will get a dev team member on Mac to assist you ASAP.

Can you fire up MyEclipse, go to Help > Software Updates > Manage in Pulse Explorer, then wait for the Pulse Explorer to start up — once it does, close MyEclipse.

Now under “My Profiles” you should see a MyEclipse 7.1 profile, click to select it, then right-click on it and select “Reinstall and Run”, that should update the software as necessary. Sorry for the hickup, the auto-update has been working fine except on a few setups where the new profile for MyEclipse 7.5 isn’t getting pulled down correctly for 7.1 installs and in that case forcing Pulse to refresh the profile like that does the trick.

I don’t know why updating MyEclipse has always been a challenge for me, but it rarely works properly. If this happens updating 7.5 to the next major release, I’ll be canceling my subscription.

I’ll delete it from my disk and re-install with the all-in-one.

Can you perform a clean install of 7.5. From the pulse explorer delete the previous installs of 7.5 and remove all the personal softwares installed.
now, from the popular section, download 7.5.
In case you want to uninstall pulse, the following are the steps:
1. Run the uninstaller.
2. Make sure the MyEclipse Install Directory has been completely removed
3. Then make sure the pulse2.locator file under is erased as well
