I’ve been trying to follow the Eclipse XDoclet Web Tutorial, and I’ve hit a dead-end that hopefully someone can help me with.

I’ve got as far as section 9 – “Setting XDoclet Ant Properties”; I cannot find the “Run Ant…” option anywhere in the IDE. I’ve tried right-clicking the xdoclet-build.xml as instructed and cannot find any Ant options.

    Can someone help?

    OS: Gentoo GNU/Linux (Kernel 2.6.11-gentoo-r3)
Eclipse: 3.1.0 / I20050627-1435 (fresh install for MyEclipse)
    MyEclipse: 3.9.210 / 20050627-4.0-Milestone-2
    Eclipse JDK: 1.4.2_08
    Application Server JDK: 1.4.2_08
    Application Server: JBoss 3.2.5
No exceptions in Eclipse log file

That is an outdated tutorial for XDoclet. Try this one:
    http://www.myeclipseide.com/images/tutorials/quickstarts/firstejb/

It deals specifically with EJB however, the principles it covers are the same for any type of XDoclet use.

Many thanks, I’ll have a look at the tutorial – if the other one is outdated, maybe it should be removed from your Tutorials and Visual Tours page?

Over a 2 year period our product has undergone substantial improvements and documentation is always trying to catch up. We try not to remove any documentation as you can’t every have too much. However, in a case like the the old Xdoclet tutorial, it is so out of date it may be confusing more developers than helping. Thanks for the feedback.
