I am trying to run the installer but it crashes my whole computer when I push the next button on the first splash screen (after unpacking).

hp omnibook6000
JDK 1.4.1 present (as well as JDK 1.3.1)
Eclipse 3.0.3
Win 2000 SP4
384 Mb RAM
I have around 750 MB free space on HD

Eclipse plugins installed:
Tomcat Sysdeo Plugin v3
org.vssplugin_1.6.0
checkclipse_1.5.0
emf-sdo-runtime-2.0.0

I had previously installed Lomboz.301 (but removed their plugins to test myeclipse)

Can anybody help me? The error when computer crashes disappears to fast for me to read and I don’ know in which logfile to look for it.

I used to have a similar problem on an old laptop I had whenever I ran any Swing application. Rather than trying to determine the root cause (since I never could on my laptop), I’d suggest you download and use our manual installation version of MyEclipse. The instructions to install it are quite simple and are contained in the download zip file.
